Aubrie got to go to her very first camp this year.. it was an all girls camp located at Camp Pineywoods. Its about a 2+ hour trip from Katy.

Skippers Birthday Surprise

Skippers birthday fell on a Monday, but Aubrie would be at camp.. so we cooked up an idea to celebrate his birthday as a family on the Sunday before. The kiddos took Skipper on a bike ride to keep him away from the house while I quickly made sandwiches and packed a cooler. I stuffed the cooler, a blanket, fishing poles, and a tackle box into the car just before they got back. We blind-folded him and put him in the car.. I had to drive around for about 15 min and try to "loose" him, he has an amazing sense of direction... finally we end up at the park. He was surprised !! Good thing was since he was blindfolded.. he didn't see everything stuffed in the car :)

We ate a picnic lunch and I enjoyed watching them fish and have a great time. I also enjoyed taking a million pictures with my new fancy camera...

our neighbor is digging up his front yard to put in these huge flower beds... he offered us his grass, and since our backyard has been dirt since we moved in, we gladly accepted :)
Skipper and Aubrie have been working on the yard for at least two days.. getting the sod down and watering it several times a day.

1st Tournament for the WILDCATS

We had our 1st tournament as the Katy Wildcats !! We lost all three games, but each game the boys got better. We knew they were up against some tough teams.. but we just needed to get some experience. Half of our boys haven't ever played in "select" ball before.. so this is a learning time for all of us !!

** Payton had the "game of his life" on Sunday. We lost the game, but Payton was exceptional in our eyes !! He pitched some of the game and was throwing 70% strikes, he got a kid out that bunted the ball .. (he ran up on the ball, pivoted on one foot and chuncked it to first to get the kid out), he made two amazing plays at 2nd base to get kids out. He was one of two to get on base, stole second, stole third and was batted in (only one to score). When we got in the car, Skip said "Payton, that was the best game you have ever had...." Payton's response "it was?!?"

We were so proud and as you can tell still pumped !!! :)

Youth Bass Fishing Tournament

On May 3rd, Payton went on his 2nd Youth Bass Fishing Tournament.. he caught several fish but didn't catch any that would put him on the board. The bass had to be a minimum of 16 inches and that was hard to do. But because he has entered two tournaments, he is now in 3rd place in his age division. It works very similar to baseball tournaments, you get points for entering tournaments and even more points for catching fish. He is super excited and loves this new hobby of his. His Grandad thinks its pretty awesome too, and has put in time and effort to make Payton a better fisherman !! I think there are 4-5 more tournaments left for the year and Payton's goal is to get a sponsor (because they have "sweet" shirts ) . We are super proud of him, once he puts his mind to something, he doesn't give up and works at perfecting his sport !

this was a "keeper" catfish.. it wasn't entered in the tournament, but they hurried home and ate it !! Go Payton !!

On Thursday April 23rd, Tom, Skipper and I drove down to Venice, LA for a two day fishing trip. We were planning on fishing Friday and Saturday and driving back late Saturday night. Tom and Skipper took turns driving and sleeping in shifts , while I tried to sleep the entire way, I did a pretty good job too !! :) We got there around 4:30 in the morning on Friday and the boys quickly jumped out of the truck.. I of course stayed in the truck with blankets and pillows and tried to sleep just a little longer. We got the boat stocked with ice, bait, lunch, drinks, etc and headed out around 8am. It was an easy ride up the river UNTIL we got to the Gulf.. it was NUTS !! The waves were huge, any where from 4-6ft ... I felt like Gilligan. We braved it for about an hour to an hour and a half !! I was so scared that I put my life jacket on.. I haven't ever put one on while we fish !! I just kept thinking about the Coast Guard coming out to get us and I would at least float !! So anyway, we turned around .. PRAISE GOD !! and headed back. We were exhausted just from holding on during the waves. We docked the boat and tried to figure out what to do next. The fishing report stated that Saturday would be worse than today.. Worse.. NO WAY were you getting me on that boat again AND make the 6ft waves worse.. I am out !! So we packed the truck up again, its only like noon by now, and headed to New Orleans for the night. We would have paid $150 for a teeny tiny room in Venice, so why not pay $150 and have a nice place in New Orleans. On the way there we have Trish get on priceline.com and put in $70 for a 4-5star hotel.. we got it !! We stayed at the Marriot for $70 !! Can you believe it !! Of course, once we checked in we had to take a nap, so sleep we did, for about 3 hours. Got up, went out and ate some Cajun food.. YUMMM !! Went to Harrahs so Tom could play Blackjack, but the minimum was too high, Skip and I played the slots and won about $140 so we cashed out and went back to the hotel.

The next morning I was in search of Cafe Du Monde for some of New Orleans finest breakfast item.. the Beignets !! While we were out searching.... this huge yacht caught our eyes.. it is the Tatoosh.. owned by the Microsoft co-founder Paul G. Allen.

Here are some things this baby has:
-Five decks;
-a master suite, a saloon and other rooms on the top deck;
-a saloon with a French limestone fireplace, a dining area, staterooms and a ladies' powder room on the main deck;
-a lobster tank;
-a shaded six-foot deep swimming pool, located on the main deck beneath a full overhang
-a movie theater;
-facilities to transport two helicopters on the top two decks;
-a custom Hinckley powerboat (about a 40 footer (12 m));
-a Hinckley sailboat of about 40 feet (12 m);
-5 sea doo's

side note.. Skippers dad actually went to High School with him !! Maybe he can hook us up !! lol

and mind you his "tinker" around boat is 2 times bigger than our deep sea fishing boat !!

We had a great Easter. The Ferows hosted a bbq at their house and lots of people came !! The food was awesome and the company was great !!
Although there were lots of people.. my camera only seemed to come out when Skylehr appeared ... oh well.. she is worth it.

Friday April 10th we went out to support our good friend and head coach of HBU baseball Coach Jared Moon. We had a blast !! They won both of their games, which put them on a 3 game winning streak !! Go Huskies !! Jared asked the boys if they wanted to come on the field with the team and they didn't waste one second getting on that field. They were able to stand with the team during the opening prayer and the National Anthem. The boys (Grant Jackman, Payton Scott and Colby Johnson) thought they were hot stuff out there with the big boys !!

Saturday... Skip's dad took Payton to his very first bass fishing tournament located on Lake Livingston. They had to get up at 4am and head to the lake. Although Payton didn't catch anything, he loved it !! Scotty could not help him at all .. his only job was to drive the boat . Payton had a blast and is eagerly awaiting his next fishing tournament in May on Lake Conroe. He says he will be more prepared this next time and the cool thing is .. Scotty fishes Lake Conroe all the time and knows where the fish are !!

Aubrie, Skipper and I spent our Saturday picking out flowers for our front flower bed. She loved having one on one time with us. We then went to our Church for an Easter Egg hunt.. it lasted all of about 30 second.. but each kiddo got a basket full of eggs. !!

last picture of a pregnant Dole !!

Dole was induced yesterday around 5:30am and by 4:30 in the afternoon , she had dilated to a 9, but the baby was still too high and not descending. The doctor was worried that since she had not dropped after strong contractions all day that if she were to deliver naturally, the baby might get stuck... So the dr. put her on the books for a c-section. By 8:30 baby Skylehr was born !! A healthy, super cute (mini dole) weighed 7 lbs 10 oz and was
20 inches long. Dole was in her room by 10:30ish and the baby joined her around 11pm. Skylehr stayed up all night with only one or two 20 min cat naps and finally fell asleep by 4:30am ... we got about 2 1/2 hours of sleep.. finally !!! She looks just like Dole and so far the first 10 hrs of her life seems to have the same temperament as Dole !!

Thank you to all of you who kept Dole and the baby covered in prayer... Prayer works and now we have a full term, healthy, baby girl to love on... Thanks Be to God !!

Payton's basketball team won 1st in their division and won 2nd in the playoffs. They were are great team this year.. but I think my blood pressure was through the roof at some of the games... they were that good !! :)

She scored 4 points in the last game.. pretty good for a kid who never played basketball before.. she was by far the "most improved" player !!

we celebrated Aubrie's 8th Birthday on Sunday (her actual birthday), Feb.22nd !! We had lots of friends and family to celebrate with us. Aubrie had a blast and even had an itinerary in place for the day. I just contributed financially and she took over from there. Is party planning in her future ? :)

My Valentine's Day Present... Venice, LA

Scotty, Cheryl, Tom, Stephen, and I went on a 2 day fishing trip out of Venice, LA. We left Thursday night around 7pm and drove straight through.. about a 7-8 hr trip. We got there around 3am and quickly jumped in the beds and slept until 5:30am. Everyone got up.. ate some yummy breakfeast (thanks Scotty) and we were off on our first day of fishing. It was sooooo super cold on the ride out to the fishing spot.. I had on thurmals, jeans, ski pants, thurmal shirt, t-shirt, hoodie, and a ski jacket. Oh ya .. and of course gloves !! I was ready !!

I hooked up the biggest fish/shark? I have ever had on my line.. this thing yanked and pulled and yanked and pulled, I probably fought it for about 20-30 minutes !! I got so tired during the fight i had to sit and use leverage to pull this thing in... even Cheryl came to help me out with the reeling !! I got this thing pretty close to the boat, enough to where Tom said.. "I see something!!" , I yelled.. "what is it ?" and two seconds later.. the line snapped !!!! NOOOOOOO... I couldnt believe it.. I wanted to at least see what I had been fighting for ever !! Oh well, It was fun anyway !!

Aubrie decided that she wanted to try basketball this year. With never playing before and never really even picking up a basketball.. we didnt know how she would do. But to our surprise.. she is turning into a good little basketball player !!! She is getting the hang of the game and has moved up in positions even ! I think she likes it more than softball, and she definitely has the height advantage too !!

4 Hours in Line

On Thursday at our Academy here in Katy a few Astros came to sign autographs. Hunter Pence, Lance Berkman, Cecil Cooper, LaTroy Hawkins, Larry Dierker, and Bill Brown. They were to be signing from 3:30-4:30. I got there at 1pm and i was number #249 !! Skip got Payton out of school early and brought him to me around 2:30... and we waited ..... and waited... and waited. the line was around the building and down the street, there were at least 200-300 people behind me !! Anyway, when we got closer to the front of the store, Payton went in armed with my camera and got some pictures of the guys ... As Payton was taking a pic of Hunter Pence, he looked up and was playing with Payton as he stuck out his tounge at him. Payton didnt get that pic but the one of Hunter Pence smiling was following the silliness !! By the time Payton came back to me in line all the Astros left. .. YEP left. So apparently they only got to #100 in the line and we were #249 !! So NO autographs, but Payton got to get really close to them and get some pics. Apparently the people in the very front of the line got there at 7am. no thank you !!

Oh well, we will try again next time.

Skipper and Payton left New Years Day to go on Payton's very 1st hunting trip. They went to Crockett, TX. and stayed for 4 days. At the deer lease, there is no cabin, no running water... just trees !! So , Payton got to do some "real camping". He loved it !! The two stayed in a tent, had a camp fire for cooking, a 4wheeler to play on and lots of time to sit in a deer stand. Payton did not get a deer this time, but he learned alot and will be ready for the next deer hunting opportunity.

Christmas with the Brashear Family 2008

right after Christmas lunch with the Scott Family, we hopped in the car for a 9 hour drive to Sapulpa, Oklahoma to spend some much over due time with Nick, Angie, and the girls. We made it up there late, but that didn't matter, we were all so happy to see each other. We spent 3 days with them an had a blast just catching up and loving on each other. They took us to see Julie's two horses, Twister and Angel. Twister is 1 year old and still in training, but Angel was ready and willing for a bunch of kids riding her.

Christmas is here ~~

This year Christmas kinda snuck up on us... with the kids in sports, working out at the tree farm and only 4 weeks in December this year.. we were a little rushed this year, but we pulled it off. The kids got to do their shopping for each other the Friday before Christmas and Skipper and I went after that. Christmas morning was nice, the kids slept until 8am, which is normal, in years past we have had to wake them up because we were tired of waiting !! Poppy, Nina, and Ashley came over to watch the kids open their presents. It was a fast morning. Right after we got done we headed off to Skipper's grandparents house for Christmas lunch with the Scott Family.

Meet the 41st President of the United States

For the past several years Skip's Grandparents have been providing a Christmas Tree (or several) to the 41st President of The United States, George Bush Sr.

3 yrs ago, when they closed down their tree farm, the honor was handed over to Scotty (Skipper's dad). The first year he went by himself and delivered two trees to the President. Last year Scotty and Cheryl went and were given a wonderful opportunity to meet him and take some picutures with him. I made a wreath for the First Lady, Ms. Barbara Bush. (seen in the picuture above)

THIS year, Scotty took his sons with him to deliver the two trees to the President !! One for his personal office and one for the entry to the offices.
They were such a hit with everyone, that they were invited back to meet the President. SO... today we went back and met President Bush and had some great pictures with him in his office. He is such a personable man, it was truly an honor to meet a man that was voted into office , and ran our great nation !!! And I greeted him with a wreath this year again, he told his staff to have it sent over to his house to be placed on the front door !!!! OH my goodness !!

Thank you to Grandad and Grandmother for planting this seed for us many many years ago, so now we had the opportunity we had today. This will go down as one of the best days in my life !!

Hopefully next year we can bring the kids along too !!

Ok.. so we pull up at the farm gates and Skipper hops out ... he says something to Payton and then you see Payton jump over into the drivers seat... YES I said drivers seat !!! Skipper opens up the gates to the farm and he leans in to tell Payton something and next thing you know.... Payton is DRIVING into the farm...... he is 10 !!! And I must say , he did an excellent job !! Go Payton !!

Day One

Saturday

We played the "Unleashed" from Fort Bend, TX. They are one of the top ranking team in Texas right now, and boy did they show us why they were #1.. they beat us 16-1 !!! Payton got to pitch some in the first game..

Game #2 .. we played the South Austin Aces.. they beat us too !! By this time of the day a NORTHERN had blown in and we were all so thankful to be off the fields and out of the 20+ mile and hour winds.. we really weren't sad !!

Second time up to bat, Payton gets hit with the pitch in the lower back.. (he had to walk that one off for several minutes) ... he took one for the team.. ended up scoring a run after that !! Go Payton....

Day Two

Sunday...

we ended up getting seeded against the 1st team from yesterday... but this time we had them worried.. they did beat us , but we held them 9-6... no where near yesterday's game.. we had two double plays, Payton caught a pop fly to center field for a 3rd out, several great line drives, and some amazing base stealing that had the other team confused .. today we were a different team. I can see us being a tough team to beat in a few months. Skippers' Grandparents just celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary. They held a anniversary party at a country club in the Woodlands. It was beautiful. They invited about 200 of their friends and family to join in the celebration. They put together a slide show documenting their years together. I was moved to tears. They have traveled all over the world, had three children, 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, and through all of this are still very much in love. I wasnt able to take alot of pictures once we were seated.. but I was able to get some of the kids.

We had a bunch of friends come and join us for Halloween. We had a Transformer(Dalton), Wonderwoman(Katie), Starwars kids(triplets), Hunter Pence (Payton), Craig Biggio (Travis), HBU Huskie Cheerleader (Camryn), and 3 Katy Tiger Cheerleaders (Aubrie, Jasmine, and Maddie). We had a great time. The kids stayed together (for the most part) and we toured the neighborhood in the quest for tons of candy. They suceeded !!

Update on Aubrie....

We had our one month eye Dr. visit today.. and Praise God.. her eye is FINALLY responding !!

her eye has improved from a 20/400 to 20/200... this is the first sign of the eye responding since we started patching 3 months ago.

The doctor wants us to keep patching full time, she says she thinks the eye is right on the verge of making drastic improvement !! We go back in two months, right before Christmas... The doctor is also allowing Aubrie to go back into gymnastics and even play basketball this fall...

I just know God has great plans for the complete healing of her eye and for her to share her faith later on because of this special journey He has her on at such a young age !!

She is taking the news of more patching in stride.. she knows it has to be done... I know she was happy when we heard there was some improvement... b/c she has been working SO hard !!

Thank you for your continued prayers for Aubrie, and we ask that you keep her in your prayers for the next two months.

(wouldn't that be an AMAZING Christmas present.... )

so after the Aggie game we took the kids to the Katy Rice Harvest Festival.. we were so tired.. but the kids wanted to ride some rides.. so off we went..

this picture accurately shows just how fast this ride went.. I was not quiet prepared for this, but I was not going to let Aubrie ride it with a stranger her first time on a big ride.. I instantly felt dizzy and my stomach dropped... and I love roller coasters.. .but not this one... haha

you can kinda see us in the bottom left corner of the picture.. Aubrie with her mouth wide open.. b/c she was screaming with delight the entire ride !! And if the ride wasnt enough for her.. she also had her hands up and kicking her feet back and forth to add to the excitement !! No doubt she could do roller coasters in a theme park.. even the loop ones !! thats my girl !!

Mia was there too.. she was not quite tall enough to ride the rides, but this night she had a different gift.. winning... Mark showed her how to play the dart game and she was off.. she won 4 animals !! Go Mia !!

last Friday, I had lunch with Aubrie in celebration of her wearing her patch for one whole week at school !! Her teacher says she is doing well. Lets just keep praying this eye will give in and get better. It is all in God's hands !!

Update on Aubries eye

We just got back from Aubries eye doctor, and well.... not so good news today.. her eye has not had any change. The doctor has ordered that Aubrie now starts patching at school all day every day. If we don't get aggressive, we will loose our opportunity to make this eye work. After the doctor left the room, it sunk in to Aubrie that she would have to patch at school and she started to cry, and then I started to cry.. my heart aches for her and all the hard work she has to do . The doctor must have gotten word that we were upset and returned to the room. She explained that she normally sees children as infants or toddlers and has lots of years to change their eye, and
we are trying to "beat the clock" on Aubrie's eye b/c she is already 7 1/2. I explained that we would do what ever it took to get the most out of this eye and we were not going to give up.

So Aubrie and I have had a "girls day" today, we went to lunch and bought her a new stuffed animal (like she needed another one !!) and just spent time talking about her concerns and what her responses should be to others. She knows that this is serious and that if we don't do whatever the doctor says she will be blind in that eye the rest of her life.

Please keep Aubrie in your prayers for complete healing of her left eye. Pray for her while she is at school, she is really worried that the kids will make fun of her and tease her. Pray that the other kids receive her with open caring arms and help her instead of put her down . Also pray that the school is accommodating in Aubries every need, so that her grades are not affected by this.

my little 10 gallon Nano Saltwater tank... I LOVE it ~~

after starting the tank.. I had to let it run for about 4 weeks so it could go through a "cycle", well last week I took some water in to the fish store and had them test it to see if I could add living things to the tank.. it was good ! yay !! So I bought 2 snails, 2 teeny hermit crabs (all tank cleaners) , a feather duster , and 1 lawnmower blenny (fish). Once they are in the tank about a week, I should be able to add a couple of tiny fish and some coral and then the tank will be complete. It is a excitting hobby.. but I am glad I dont have a big tank.. b/c I could get carried away really easy and it isnt cheap !! I will post pics as I add to the tank ! :)

HURRICANE IKE

Hurrican Ike came barreling towards us on Friday night.. we spent most of the day on Thursday getting the house ready for a big storm. We had lots of water, ice, candles and canned goods, it took 4 stores to acheive these prized items.. but we got them !! Friday night before the storm hit , I was cooking dinner and Skip and Payton were outside playing football, when all of a sudden they heard a big boom. Out went the lights, WHAT are you kidding me.. its beautiful outside... our power was out from 7pm-9:30pm. So here is a picture of my way of cooking in the dark... thank goodness for gas stoves !!

Saturday morning after the storm... wow what a night... I wasnt quite prepared for just how scared I would be.. the noise of the wind was something I dont ever care to hear again !! We were 100% Blessed.. the only damage we had was a few limbs down ( not near the house ) and a piece of fence fell . God is good !! This is a picture of our street after the storm.

On Saturday Sept. 6th, our really good friends Ricky and Lanann invited us to their daughter Katie's 9th birthday party.. the coolest part was that it was at Minute Maid Park and a tour was included in the party !! Payton and I were so excited !! It was so cool to be there when no one else is .. it was so quiet and we learned a TON of new things about how things run down there.

Like ....

Did you know that the roof is "small missle" proof !!! wow !! and it takes exactly 13 minutes to open !!

Did you know that the grass grows a 1/4 of an inch a day and they have to cut the grass EVERY day !!

We learned how bats and balls are made.. it was overall the coolest birthday party and I want my birthday there too !! (I am totally serious) :)

Katie's party was up in one of the suites.. waiting in the suite for us was Junction Jack.. all the kids were SO excited to see him and take pictures with him !!

While on the tour, they took us in to the "Diamond Club", this was a glass sculpture of Minute Maid on display. Did you know that to be in the Diamond Club, they require a one time donation of $20, 000.. now you have to buy your season tickets which run about $300 + per ticket !!! Wow!

Skipper , the kids, and I all went up to Tyler for the long holiday weekend. We left Friday right after school let out and arrived in Tyler around 8:30ish at night. The kids were SO ready to be out of the car ! And me too !! :) Saturday we woke up and the kids wanted to get some fishing in.. so we all went down to the boat house and started fishing. Aubrie caught several big catfish and Payton seemed to be the master of perch that day !

update on Aubrie's Dr. appointment

We met with Aubries doctor today and she came in with a mission...
(b/c Aubrie is first seen by an intern).. Aubries eye has not responded the way she had expected it to... the doctor was not happy at all.. and Aubrie took it personally.. i had to explain to her that the dr. was not actually mad at her, she was mad that the eye had not done what she had expected. I showed the dr how she had to start at a 60 font and how she is actually reading books now (the ones with larger print) and she was understanding that we have been working very hard and on a strict schedule with the things we do with that eye.... We knew along time ago that her left eye is a "stubborn" eye.... and now this dr is finding that out too..

So now we have to patch for 3 more weeks.. she will patch all day until school starts and then patch when she gets home from school until she goes to bed. then of course all day on the weekends. and the dr wants her to do more reading playing the DS and add in some dot-to-dots to make the eye work harder.

So you see its not awefull news.. but the spirit of defeat came over me today
and i have had a hard time shaking it .. which has made me cry every time
someone called to check in.. so please dont take it personal.. i was just trying to keep it together in front of Aubrie.

I have been praying all day that i will not accept the spirit of defeat , in Jesus' name. and i believe that God heals and that He WILL heal Aubries eye. Please keep Aubrie in your prayers for God to keep working in her eye as He has already been doing.. because Skipper and I have seen her eye healing each day, no matter what the report was !!

Aubrie has been reading several times and playing her DS ...EVERY day for two weeks.. she has patched from the time she opens her eyes in the morning right up unitl she closes them to go to sleep. She is actually reading books now !! What an accomplishment !! She has worked so hard, and has gone from reading a 60 font to reading books !!! God is So Good !!

(note.. her eyes are red because when she takes her patch off at night , she rubs and rubs and rubs)

she has her Dr. appointment on the 21st of August so I will update then to tell you what her eye has done by then !!

this is a picture of Aubrie and her Children's Pastor , Mrs. Louann. She wanted Aubrie to bring her a patch too.. so Aubrie will not be the only one in the Children's Ministry that had a patch !! Now what love !! Also note, the patch over Stitch's eye.. he didn't want to be left out of the fun either.

So on to the update...

We are approaching week #2 on our journey of healing... when we started out 2 wks ago the doctor wanted her to read every day and play her DS alot !! Well when we got home, she could not see the words to any of her books.. so I decided to take a book and type it on the computer and just print out the pages for her to read.. we found out that she could only see a font size of 60 ( type with a 60 font and see just wow big that is ) and when she read it was only a few inches from her face.. Well alot has happened in just a week and a half.. she is now down to reading a font size of 30 !! Praise God !! And she tells us every day something new she is noticing that she can see better. She has been quite the little trouper through all of this !! Don't get me wrong we have lots of incentives for her to complete this time, but hey, it works !! We just wanted to share these updates with you.. her next appointment is on August 21st.... so I will update with the amazing results i know we are going to receive !! Just keep our little girl in your prayers for complete healing of her eye ! She knows God is good !!

And the Patching starts.............

As many of you already know my little girl has Ambelopia in her left eye.. we have known this for about 3 yrs now. Well, during this time we have been seeing an optomologist here in Katy, and over the past year his "diagnosis" of her eye kept getting worse and worse.. he had us get an mri or catscan... cant remember which one.. and told us there were cists on her retna, but he couldn't do surgery in risk of doing more damage to the retna in the long term. Aubrie kept telling us when we would pray for her eye that God has already healed her eye... and not long after that the cists were not only off of her retna.. there was not even a trace that they had even been there !!! no scars ... .nothing !! This past visit with him, he made it sound like her condition was just incurable and really rare !! He told us to stop all efforts to regain sight in her left eye and keep her wearing glasses to protect the "good eye".. after leaving this appointment I was furious !! I do not believe in giving up or that her eye is done !! God heals and I believe in that 100 %

There is a little girl in Aubrie's class that has the same eye problem and her mom told me about her doctor and how wonderful she is, how she never gives up, and how aggressive she is with her treatments.. Well it turns out she is the same doctor that helped my cousin regain eyesight some 20+ years ago.

Her name is Dr. Helen Mintz-Hittner she is down in the Med Center she has been in practice for 39 yrs treating kids with eye problems. I HIGHLY recommend her !! Well we had an appointment yesterday with the new doctor !! it went WONDERFUL !! She told us how common this eye disorder is and how it can be reversed with aggressive treatment (no surgeries) she told us that we needed to patch Aubrie's "good" eye every day ALL day , from the moment she wakes up until its time for bed. We need to do this for 3 weeks straight and she can get her eyesight from 20 / 400 all the way to 20 / 30 !!! Just in time for school to start !! are you kidding me !! only 3 weeks !!! What a short amount of time for such a HUGE outcome !! Dr. Hittner also told us that it is very common that these other doctors tell alot of people these things because there is no money in treating kids like Aubrie... b/c most of the work is with the kid and the parent.. they don't need surgery or any other major medical things.. so they basically send these kids away with these diagnosis of not getting better because they cant make any money !! Can you believe that !! How many kids are these doctors not helping because they aren't making a bunch of money off of them !! I was so mad about that I wanted to go and picket the office .. .so others can have hope too for their kiddos to get better !! I am still in shock over that one !

Skipper and I truly believe God sent us to this new doctor for hope and healing !! We are so blessed and so excited to see what the next three weeks bring...

Aubrie was not real happy at first , but after long talks about being able to see out of that eye finally and of course a few bribes :) she is coming to terms with what needs to happen !!

So today is day 2 of patching and she is doing really well .. . I am asking for prayers for complete healing of her eye... we have a Big God and He can do BIG things... and we are believing in that..

Keep miss Aubrie in your prayers to .. to understand this is a tiny amount of time for the benefit of the rest of her life !! and keep Skipper and I in your prayers.. for patience and love when she is having a bad day with all the patching...

Paytons 10th Birthday... Boys ONLY Beach Bash

Skipper took Payton and two of his friends ( Nick and Glenn ) down to the beach house for a "10th Birthday - Boys ONLY Beach Bash"...

day one:

once unloaded and all unpacked the boys set off for some evening bike riding.. they would ride up and down the streat and skid the bike to make really cool black marks all over the road !!

after a lot of bike riding it was inside to cool off and take a break .. they all played there video games and waited for some dinner

after a rest and some dinner all the boys went off to the beach for some fun.. here they are trying to get some sand together to start making castles.

The Triplets celebrated their 7th Birthday with us.

it was at Uncle Bubba's house and the kids LOVED it !!

after we left the celebration, we headed over to the Ferow's Block party.. they blocked off the street and the kids ran free. There was a moonwalk (supplied by the best) lol... and a ton of food and fireworks..

Camp Creek ... June 13th-14th

On June 13-14th , Scotty and Cheryl (grandparents) took Payton, Aubrie and Jasmine to Camp Creek up by College Station. They stayed in a little cabin on the lake and crammed in a ton of fishing. They fished on the dock at night with a light in the water and fished all the next day in the boat.

They all had a blast !!

Fishing on Sunday

I got to go with Tommy, Scotty, and Cheryl this past Sunday and go fishing. We went out of Freeport this time.. we caught about 100 fish between all of us, but only 6 were keepers !! All snappers !! We had alot of fun. Here is a picture of the sunrise on Sunday morning.. God is good and His creations are amazing

along the way , there was a dolphin that was following us around.. he would get really close to the boat and just kinda hang out and watch us.. it was really neat... he never got too close.. but he was very interested in our fishing. we were catching snapper and most of them were 15 inches, well they had to be at least 16 to keep.. so of course we would have to throw them back.. this dolphin would wait for us to throw a snapper back and would take off after it and eat it.. free lunch I guess... super cool !! he got so used to us releasing the snapper that when Scotty was cutting up more bait for us he threw out the head of the bait fish (thats what we always do) the dolphin looked at the bait fish and actually shook his head "no" .. we thought it was hilarious !! and when Scotty threw out the tail of the bait fish the dolphin looked at it again and shook his head "no" !!! too funny... he only wanted our throw back snapper !!! smart guy !! here are some pics of our little friend for the day.

Summer Time...

well it sure is HOT outside... so far this summer the kids are swimming everyday, we have Jasmine at the house each day.. (Aubrie is loving that), Payton has baseball practice every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. He is getting better and better each week.. its pretty cool to watch the work and effort he puts into his baseball.. we are really proud of him. He also works on his pitching every night with Skipper, he has to get his arm stronger to be able to throw the faster pitches that the 10-11yr olds throw.

Next week we have a tournament in Shiner, TX on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.. this will be the second one he will be in.. so we all are excited !!

Both of the kids are still in gymnastics every Tuesday.

Skipper is in his 1st week of his new career with Cintas.. he is excited for the opportunity and we are happy as a family for him !! I am excited to see where this company will take us in the future.. he is already doing so well, just in his first week . He is such a good salesman !!

So, needless to say we have been quite busy this summer and it just got started. Payton's birthday is coming up soon the BIG TEN !! wow... where did the past 10 yrs go ? You always hear your parents say.. "they grow up so fast" .. I now know what that feels like.. just think in 8 more years college !!!! OH MY GOODNESS !!

Payton tried out for and made a 10U select baseball team called Katy Sliders ...... this weekend was his first tournament, they played friday night, saturday and sunday.. although they didnt win the tournament, the team played great and lots of teamwork !! here are some pics from the weekend.

Skipper decided that the kids will need something else to do this summer besides bugging mom all day.. so he took us to Academy and bought us this pool for the back yard.. yay for dad !!

if its a "family" pool, we need "family" help in putting it together. Payton was a great help, Aubrie was too busy being worried a wasp might land on her.. even if they weren't even any where near her !!

Fishing Trip

Skipper and I went down to Freeport to do some off-shore fishing Wednesday night.. we did some night fishing, but didnt catch anything... we went out again on Thursday and had a greatday of fishing. We caught 1 jack fish (not good to eat), 2 king fish, 1 baby snapper and a couple of hardheads.all in all a good day of fishing !!

along the way we saw a sea turtle just hanging out on top of the water I took a few pics and then he was gone.

we had a Fellowship night at the Rough Riders Game, our Praise Team was invited to come out and play at half time.. it was fun !! Lots of members came out and had some fun together !! we should do this more often.

The Solar System

Payton's 1st school project... The Solar System

we took him to Hobby Lobby and purchased all of the materials needed to create a solar sytem model. from there we rushed home so he could start painting the different pieces. he did all the painting (i did help with mixing paint colors to acheive the color he wanted) and then he was to label each planet and put them in the correct order... he worked on his project for 3 nights and delivered it safely to school yesterday !! he is so proud of his project and we are so proud of him and all of his efforts !!

I went to Hawaii in 2001 for my grandad's funeral, he was entoured in the USS Arizonawhile i was there , my dad asked me to bring him back a Plumeria plant for him to grow, so I did. His plant is now a huge tree and this past visit , he gave me two clippings from his plant. They are doing great.. they love the sun and one has even started blooming !! If you havent ever smelled a plumeria.. it is the best smelling flower !! It is what the leis are made of in Hawaii. They come in several colors..

My dad wrote me ..

Tom, Janet, Skipper and I went on a night fishing trip on Sat May 17...

we caught 5 sharks !!

I caught 2 and everyone else caught one... it was really exciting catching them, but having to beat them with a bat so they wont bite you when you get them in the boat !! crazyness !!

then of course the old ugly sink wont look right, so now we must replace the sink too.... one project turns into many !!

We leave on Monday June 4th for Garner State park.. we will return on the 10th. The kids are each taking a friend. We are meeting Nick,Angie, Jamie, Julie, Jordan, Angie's parents, her sister and family. Tommy, Marti, and Shelbi will be joining us too ! We should have a blast !!
